Hello!!
i'm ao3 user HATECADILLAC and purely-functional dreamwidth user naturepart1 (i literally only made this account this year for yuletide purposes lol). First off: THANK YOU!!! i've only participated in yuletide once before this but i think its such a fun tradition and it really gets people thinking and writing about media that doesn't get as much attention which is something that's like genuinely important to me outside of fan/online spaces

to start off, here's a little bit about me:
i'm a 20 year old bisexual nb trans guy (he/him) currently in college double-majoring in film and american studies with an emphasis on queer theory. obviously film is a big part of my life (and i think almost all of my requests are films lol); i especially LOVE cult film, horror, general 'trash' film of the 70s-2000s. 1970s is my biggest interest across the board though. other than that i like watching anime and reading in the same genres, even if i don't do the latter as much as i would like to. writing wise, i've been writing fic for nearly a decade!! idk its something that's always brought me a lot of joy. more recently i've moved into trying original fiction for the first time which is both exciting and scary.

i've never done one of these before(!) so i'm gonna talk individually about each of the properties i've requested, why i like them so much, and specific ideas/DNWS for each one. first though, here's my overarching Do-Not-Wants for fics about any property:

- explicit sexual content about underage characters (will re-iterate this individually for fandoms with underage characters)
- aging up
- "dead dove" content (violence/gore i'm a little more okay with, but absolutely no rape/torture or sexualized torture/hate-crime violence/incest)
- BDSM/kink (pls just use common sense... if it's not a fairly conventional sexual interest best just skip it)
- essentialist dominant/submissive dynamics (i'll try and explain this best i can: when one character is framed as innately submissive/innately dominant both sexually and non-sexually. you remember uke/seme from the early 2010s? i hate that shit)
- heterosexual gendered dynamics in slash pairings (similar idea to the above, nobody should be the 'girl' or the 'boy')
- setting-change or modern AUs (canon-divergence is fine!)
- crackfic
- cis male pregnancy
- marriage 

as for things i DO like/want in general (particularly those bolded)...:
queer stories/themes, trans characters, friends to lovers, awkward/developing/complicated relationships, teenage slice-of-life, unresolved romantic/sexual tension, angst, pining, magical/supernatural realism, character study, introspection, identity/sexuality crisis, experimental styles/POVs, dreams/surreal scenes, canon-compliant, emotional repression, unreliable narrators, voyeurism (sexual or non-sexual), masturbation (for the purpose of character study or for Whatever Else), characters interacting with visual/audio media (watching films, filming themselves, listening to/making music, all that sweet sweet Self Recognition Through The Other)

okay lets get into specifics

Christine - Stephen King
Why do I like it so much?: I read Christine during a very tough recent period of my life and it quickly became something very important to me, especially in a Gender Way. Idk like I love the domestic supernatural elements of it and the small-scale of its tragedy; very Twilight Zone-esque 'wouldn't it be fucked up if that happened to somebody' energy. ALSO obsessed with how that tragedy comes out of an admittedly kind of stupid setup ('what if a car could hurt you'). I love the characters and their interactions, I love the mixed POV, I love the worldbuilding. I ALSO love the whole ass idea of Christine as being a car AND being a woman, 'all cars are girls', Arnie's 'marriage' to her... that shit just rules I dunno what else to say. Cliché as it is I see my high school self in Arnie to almost a painful degree which of course means he IS transgender in the exponentially better version of Christine that exists in my brain

Fandom-Specific Likes/Story Ideas: If you write trans Arnie I will literally cry actual tears of joy and if u write any ship as t4t i will peacefully pass away. Gen is fine by me, don't have a specific preference for het or slash with ship stuff so go crazy pretty much. My favorite parts of the book are hands-down its dream sequences and when various combos of characters are driving around in Christine, so i would LOVE something in a similar mood. Very domestic, slice of life with really off vibes. I also love Arnie's very weird supernatural ""relationship"" with Christine and would really like to see her as a character in her own right. Give Me The Weird Pseudosexual Car Stuff. I've been starting and giving up on a fic about Arnie and Dennis making out in Christine at a lovers lane but its fucked up and weird cuz it's Christine, so maybe I can pass on the mantle to somebody else haha.

Phantom Of The Paradise (1974)
Why do I like it so much?: Phantom of the Paradise my beloved hyperfixation <3 as a 70s enjoyer u cannot get more 70s than potp and i dunno man i think its so fun. winslow is one of the characters of all time and i think he makes a very very fun phantom ANNNDD i love his fucked up body stuff! speaking of the characters of all time every queer person i've ever shown this movie to has become OBSESSED with Beef. also jessica harper is my one and only love in this world. the aesthetics... the music... the sheer Vibes... Brian De Palma knows how to make a good looking movie. AND i love all of his double-image mirror stuff going on. the movie is very important to me and im so glad people are starting to discover it more online

Fandom-Specific Likes/Story Ideas: Every so often I toss around this idea in my head of Winslow and Beef being community college roommates pre-canon. but not in like a  'uwu and they were roommates' way like in Actually capturing the weird ass dynamic that having a roommate is. AND it would be hilarious if they were roommates and they fucking hated each other. het, slash, gen are all cool for me so do whatever. maybe something with the juicy fruits..... love those funny guys. ALSO i would love fic that highlighted phoenix bc i was so bitter she didn't get nominated last year :') idk this is a mess do whatever u want and I will be obsessed with it. AND as always if u hit anybody with the transgenderfication beam i will cry tears of joy

Re-Animator (Movies)
Why do I like it so much?: NOTHING pleases me more than a fucked up guy. and herbert is easily one of the most fucked up guys ever. combined with dan they're two EXTREMELY fucked up guys together which is peak gay romance <3 re-animator is one of those fun movies that is both so over-the-top gory and so weirdly tender that it creates a balance i am extremely obsessed with. i also love that it carries the mantle from nightmare on elm street 2 of the Significantly Gayer Sequel. similarly to how i feel about Christine i like the small-scale of its tragedy and that a lot of the emphasis is on dan's life as opposed to like The World In The Abstract. also im a transmasc mlm horror fan so if i didn't like re-animator they would revoke my membership

Fandom-Specific Likes/Story Ideas: do i even need to say it? t4t. everybody and anybody can should and must be transgender (for legal purposes this is a joke). any time i look for or write re-animator fic i really like the idea of 'down time' between herbert and dan..... like domestic moments in between parts of canon where they might be talking to each other or having feelings or whatever. AGAIN tapping into the actual weird and intimate dynamic of having a roommate. additionally i REALLY REALLY REALLY love the bride and would LOVE a her-centric/character study-esque piece about her. and anything where meg is like There would be great cuz i feel like in so much fic she's an afterthought idk. het slash or gen are fine but look out 4 my fandom specific dnw

Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)
Why do I like it so much?: ok to be TOTALLY honest this is my surrogate for bill and ted not getting nominated this year but i DO love this movie. every time i watch it i sob like a little baby through pretty much the whole thing. cameron frye is kin with me. i assume its clear at this point that i am a Guy Who Enjoys Teenage Slice Of Life and can you get ANY more like that then ferris bueller's day off 1986 dir. john hughes. and the fourth wall breaking of COURSE. idk guys in the 1980s be bisexual

Fandom-Specific Likes/Story Ideas: i am an extremely predictable man. if u write transgender characters or t4t pairings i will owe you my life. domestic-y suburban teen slice-of-life stuff, maybe post-canon.... maybe cameron pov because he's my special guy. a healthy portion of homogay repression for him perhaps coupled with friends-to-lovers. they could all like smoke weed together or something and hang out. would LOVE if someone tried to capture the 4th wall stuff in fic form. much like with meg i would really like sloane to Be There and a present part of whatever the story is because i love women <3 gen het or slash is cool, polyamory would be VERY cool but like do whatever pretty much and i will like it

Little Shop Of Horrors - Menken/Ashman
Why do I like it so much?: the first musical i ever saw live at age 7 <3 idk man its a classic for a reason yknow. shit slaps. very fun characters, very fun music, while STILL being extremely emotionally upsetting. obsessed w that shit. i love me a good faustian bargain. audrey and seymour are perhaps one of the greatest stage love stories of all time? not taking feedback on this declaration. a classic tragedy... the inescapable horror of poverty and the ways in which people hurt themselves and others in the futile struggle against it... all of that WITH a funney plant that eats people. its hard for me to articulate my love for this show but its VERY very very strong and from my entire heart.

Fandom-Specific Likes/Story Ideas: seymour and audrey are the ORIGINAL t4t couple so of course that would be very much appreciated. they deserve good things :(( something sweet and domestic but also it can be sad and fucked up. or it doesnt have to be. the two of them actually going to a department store together maybe....?? or just hanging out and holding each other. this is the one fandom where my marriage/wedding stuff lightens IF its about their doomed almost-marriage. in a TOTALLY different direction: orin is an extremely fucked up little guy and it would be fun to explore him being a fucked up little guy Within Reason
